Activities and Progress after Todd returned home!

-10-02    Sorry for delay! Todd's been home for just over two weeks now.  So far he has been out a few times to visit friends and family.  He is using a manual chair and expects his electric chair this week.

-6-02     Todd passes out at his rehab session on this day. He is sent back to BMC because his heart is not beating properly. He stayed at the hospital for 5 days for tests to determine how to resolve this problem.  The solution was to defibrillate his heart to bring in back to a normal rhythm.  It worked well and was discharged.

-19-02    Todd gets a new van. Actually its a used 1992 Dodge with 7 passenger seats plus the capacity for two wheelchair passengers and a driver.  The van has a front passenger door that can be opened by the driver (like a bus). It also has plenty of head room and good air conditioning. The lift can raise Todd and his chair with little strain. Thanks to a customer and friend Lee, who put me in touch with Dale, who sold me this van for a great price. Its a good starter van and should last Todd a long time.

-9-02    Todd had some MRIs done today for some shoulder pain he has been experiencing for some time. The doctor also ordered some films of his neck.  Upon reviewing the neck films the doctor found that Todd may have some cysts in the area where his injury occurred.  The cysts are called syringomyelia (sear-IN-go-my-ELL-ya). I have added a link on the Spinal Injury Links of Interest Page to further explain this potential problem.  Todd has appointments soon to further investigate and diagnose the issue with his shoulder pain and the possible syringomyelia.
